Dirk Alexander
Guitarist, singer & songwriter on a lifelong musical journey since age 6 when he saw KISS on the Paul Lynde Halloween Special. That Christmas, he was gifted his first guitar (excluding the Mickey Mouse guitar he shredded on as a toddler) and lessons started weeks later.
In his early years he was in many bands and eventually cofounded the original band Tracer and performed in all the wonderful venues during the New Jersey musical explosion. Dirk is a fan of many genres and many artists including, John Coltrane, Yo-Yo Ma, Mike Stern, Jeff Beck, Jake E. Lee, The Beatles (of course!), Freddie King, David Bowie, Prince and so many more…
Continuing to expand his craft, he’s always searching out great players to learn from to expand his musical vocabulary. Dirk is constantly changing his gear and is on a self-induced “tone journey”, perhaps a journey with no end but it’s the journey that’s important to him. He is predominantly a “Strat” player and (mostly) plays guitars that he creates with parts from various mod shops and specialty companies.
He has and continues to work and practice very hard to get in the position to be lucky enough to play with some of the best musicians, bands and projects around. Dirk , along with drummer Andy Zampella and bassist Todd Derstine complete the power trio Local Honey and perform all over New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He also has a fantastic time playing with friends in the rock cover band Rockit Fish on the famed Jersey Shore. In addition to playing in the bands above he continues to write and record original music that is available on all major streaming services.
